WORLD AIDS DAY





INTRODUCTION

HISTORY

James W. A group of HIV and AIDS-related NGOs (including Panagea Worldwide AIDS and The AIDS and Rights Alliance for Southern Africa) launched a marketing effort in 2016 to rebrand international AIDS Day to world HIV Day. They claim that the shift will focus on social justice issues and the development of treatments like PrEP.

In the United States, the White House began commemorating World AIDS Day with the signing of a proclamation.
